STOODLEIGH COURT COACH HOUSE
IS HOSTING
Restorative Yoga Retreats
in Rural Devon
Beginner
Relax and unwind in the rolling hills and of Mid Devon, come and spend a weekend getaway in the peaceful rural setting with this three-night yoga retreat for mind, body and soul. Leave the hustle and bustle of daily life behind and join a nurturing, revitalising, and deeply restoring weekend retreat hosted by StoodleighStays in collaboration with ExmoorYoga. Come and enjoy a real treat!
Your hosts are really looking forward to meeting you & welcoming you to Stoodleigh Court Coach House Yoga Retreat. There will be plenty of time throughout the weekend to chat with Claire about this approach to yoga and how it applies to us in our lives. These retreats are designed to be small and personalised to those attending. The aim of the Friday meet and chat is to find out what you are hoping to learn or develop in yourself by coming along to the weekend. It might be that you have particular physical goals in mind or it might be that you need some calm and quiet or time to create order in your mind. The hope is that with this understanding of what everyone is hoping to develop, Claire can tailor the sessions to meet everyone’s needs. The sessions will all be structured but informal to allow for discussion, learning and a giggle too! The more everyone asks, the more we will all get out of the weekend. And of course, with this relaxed nature or format, there is always scope to adapt according to how everyone is finding the session. In summary… it will be a weekend of fun, relaxed but hopefully personally challenging (in a good way!) yoga and suited entirely to you and those joining with you!

Skill Level
Beginner
This retreat is suitable for those new to yoga, or to this approach, or for those who are keen to refresh the core asanas in greater depth. We will focus the retreat around the asanas that make up the sun prayer which include, the half moon, the cobra, downward dog but we will also explore lots of twisted positions such as the sitting twist, the twisted triangle and fun balancing positions such as the tree. We will work on clearly picturing each asana, shaping our bodies with an open consciousness and developing our will power, throughout the retreat. The discussion on Saturday evening will focus on how this form of yoga can help us to develop our sense of self and guidance over our life – quite a big topic that will hopefully spark lots of intrigue and discussion! The content of each session throughout the retreat will always be tailored to the group and different options will be given so that everyone is challenged to the right degree.

Spa Treatments
Enjoy a 30 minute, relaxing and rejuvenating aromatherapy massage, Indian head massage or reflexology session that is included in your stay.
Aromatherapy Massage
Aromatherapy massage is a very relaxing and calming treatment.. Aromatherapy oils extracted from flowers and plants are blended specifically for you into a massage blend to support the emotions and improve general health and well being. Beneficial for aiding many conditions such as anxiety, depression and stress related problems, joint and muscular aches and pains, supporting the immune system, poor circulation and many other conditions.
Indian Head Massage
Massage to the head neck and shoulders where tension can accumulate. Can be helpful in easing stress related symptoms such as stiff neck and shoulders, tight scalp and eyestrain. Massaging the scalp stimulates the flow of blood carrying nutrients to the hair follicles and can promote healthy hair growth and improve the hair condition. Nourishing oils can be applied to the hair and scalp if requested.
Reflexology
Reflexology works on the belief that energy channels run through the body and its systems and end in the feet at points called reflexes. During a reflexology treatment, pressure is applied to the reflexes on the feet to stimulate the energy flowing through the channels and their related body systems. An imbalance of energy flow can be felt in the reflexes as tender areas and can correspond to an imbalance of energy flowing through the body systems it supports. By applying pressure to these areas flow and balance can be restored. It is possible to treat a wide range of conditions in this way.
